Joe Hall

HEAD COACH / DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL

Joe Hall brings a wealth of experience in dealing with athletes. The Director of Basketball and a Head Coach with Slam Basketball Club, Hall is also the current Director of Football Student-Athlete Development at Kansas State University. Hall grew up in California where he was a prep star and named a Student Sports Magazine Three-Sport All-American. As a senior at Artesia High School in Lakewood, California, Joe played football, basketball, and baseball where he received All-State and All-League honors in all three sports. Following a successful senior season, Hall was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball's Amateur Draft. Hall attended Kansas State University where he led the 11-1 1999 team in rushing and earned Dallas Sporting News 2nd Team All Big XII recognition before playing parts of 5 seasons in the National Football League. 

Michael Goodpasture

GENERAL MANAGER

As the General Manager of Slam Basketball, Mike oversees the day-to-day operations, including program development, coach recruitment, scheduling, and community outreach. He is responsible for creating a positive and structured environment that fosters both athletic and personal growth for players of all skill levels. With a passion for mentorship and a deep love for the game, Mike is dedicated to helping young athletes build confidence, discipline, and teamwork on and off the court. What drives his commitment is the joy of watching kids develop not just as players, but as people - learning life lessons through the game they love.

Jeremiah Belien

Coach Jeremiah approaches every season with a clear mission: to create a competitive, positive environment where young athletes grow both as players and as people. With a passion for progress and a belief in daily improvement, Coach encourages his team to “get 1% better every day” — on the court, in the classroom, and in life.

His goals go beyond teaching the basics. He’s committed to helping players deepen their understanding of the game, develop stronger basketball IQ, and build habits that translate to success far beyond sports. Whether it’s competing hard or supporting teammates, Coach Belien fosters an atmosphere where effort, accountability, and energy matter most.

At the heart of his coaching is a simple philosophy: compete every day, get better every day — no excuses.

Valden Dohl

7TH-8TH GRADE BOYS COACH

Coach Valden is originally from Sylvan Grove, Kansas, and is currently pursuing a degree in Athletic Training at Kansas State University. With a lifelong background in basketball and other sports, he brings a strong foundation in physical performance, teamwork, and athletic development.

Growing up with two younger brothers, Valden was constantly involved in both competitive and recreational sports. This upbringing fueled his passion for helping athletes succeed — not just on the court, but through injury prevention, recovery, and overall performance enhancement. His goal is to support young athletes in becoming stronger, smarter, and more confident both in the game and in life.

Mark Douglass

8TH GRADE GIRLS COACH

With over 15 years of coaching experience — including four years overseas — Coach Douglass brings passion, discipline, and a commitment to growth to every practice. A proud Dallas, Texas native, he has coached all age levels up through high school and spent two years on the elite Nike EYBL Gauntlet circuit with Drive Nation out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Coach Douglass lives by the philosophy: “Attack the day. Win today.” He believes that consistent effort and daily improvement are the keys to long-term success, both on and off the court.

Beyond basketball, coach has dedicated himself to community outreach. While coaching in south Georgia, he helped launch an after-school program supporting underprivileged youth with academic help and healthy snacks — a service recognized with the U.S. Army Volunteer Service Medal.

Now based in the Manhattan area, coach continues to pour into the next generation through basketball, strength and conditioning, and mentorship — always driven by his love for the game and his desire to see young athletes grow as players and as people.

Kayla Lindsey

6TH-7TH GRADE GIRLS COACH

Hello! I’m Kayla, a youth basketball coach originating from Kansas. I played basketball from youth through college, gaining a deep appreciation for the game and its impact. I began coaching youth basketball 3 years ago with a passion for mentoring young athletes and helping them grow both on and off the court. I love coaching because it gives me the chance to be a positive influence, guiding players to not only improve their skills but also develop strong character and leadership. Watching my team overcome challenges and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding, and I am committed to creating a supportive environment where they can thrive and develop a lasting love for the sport.

Tom McElroy

9TH-10TH GRADE BOYS COACH

Coach Tom has spent the past 10 years coaching youth basketball and football in and around Junction City, Kansas. Through his work with local programs and the YMCA, he’s become known for his energetic, positive approach and his commitment to helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.

Coach believes that learning the fundamentals is key to long-term success — and that improvement doesn’t stop at the end of practice. That’s why he gives his players "homework" to encourage extra reps, self-discipline, and personal accountability. His goal is to help every athlete not only have fun, but also build the work ethic and confidence it takes to get better every day.

Above all, coach McElroy is passionate about creating an environment where kids can enjoy the game, learn valuable life skills, and reach their full potential.

Tate Brown

VARSITY BOYS COACH

Tayton Brown is a proud Manhattan High School graduate from the Class of 2022, where he was a senior captain on basketball team and helped lead the team to a state tournament appearances during his senior season. A dedicated and driven athlete, Tayton earned a basketball scholarship to the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, where he recently completed his third year as a collegiate player.

This past season, Tayton played a key role in helping the St. Mary Spires win their conference tournament and secure a spot in the NAIA National Tournament. His passion for the game extends beyond playing. He returns to Manhattan Slam, where he once competed as a high school player, now taking on his first season as a coach. Tayton brings current playing experience, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of the game to the program.

Joel Garver

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

As the Player Development for Slam Basketball, Joel is dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court. With a background in competitive basketball and years of coaching experience, Joel specializes in skill development, performance training, and mentoring players at all levels.

He works closely with coaches, and players to create personalized training plans, focusing on fundamentals, basketball IQ, and character development. Passionate about fostering confidence and teamwork, Joel brings a positive, high-energy approach to every session.

Nicole Rush

MARKETING MANAGER

As the Marketing Manager for Slam Basketball, I lead strategic initiatives to grow our brand, engage the community, and celebrate the achievements of our young athletes. With a passion for youth sports and a background in graphic design, I create and manage campaigns across social media, email, and local outreach to increase visibility and drive enrollment. My focus is on building strong connections with families, sponsors, and fans—making sure our players shine both on and off the court.

Dr. Aspen Streetman

ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

Dr. Aspen Streetman is passionate about empowering individuals to reach their full athletic potential. She earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology at Kansas State University, where her research focused on the intersection of empowerment, strength, and physical activity. Dr. Streetman is currently an NIH-funded postdoctoral trainee at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has been actively involved in a large-scale multi-site cluster randomized clinical trial, assisting with recruitment, health coach training, and implementation. Her research continues to explore how different forms of exercise influence empowerment and athletic performance.

With over a decade of experience in coaching and personal training, Dr. Streetman bridges theory and practice in athlete development. She holds certifications as an NSCA-certified Personal Trainer, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, and CrossFit Level 1 Coach.
